On Sunday 11 May at 11am, the OAKA Velodrome will open its gates to welcome young and old to a big festive event entitled “I love family”.
The event is under the auspices of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece and is organized by the initiative “I love the family”(agapotinoikogeneia.gr), in which holy dioceses, Christian associations, polygamous organizations, parents’ associations, educational institutions and other bodies that are sensitive to the protection and defence of the sacred institution of the family. One of the organisations participating in this initiative is the Orthodox Missionary Association ‘The Great Basil’.
From 11 a.m. parents and children will have the opportunity to browse the thematic pavilions where there will be parallel activities according to their age and interests: puppet theatre, crafts, pastry, discussions and reflections on contemporary issues facing the family.
At 12.30 pm there will be a festiveprogrammewith theatrical performances, children’s and youth choirs, traditional dances and an award ceremony for the winners of the Student Contest “I love the family”.
The event will be presented by screenwriter George Tsiakkas and actress Christina Pavlidou from the beloved series “Agios Paisios: From Farasa to Heaven”.
